Aged Brass - Tewkesbury Mortice Knobs - Anvil 83860

A very ornate and decorative pair of un-sprung solid door knobs, reproduced from a Georgian original. Perfectly suited to restore period properties or town houses to create a genuinely traditional feel. Our Ageing process highlights the eccentric detail to the square back plate, offering a large contrast to all the highly polished components. These knobs will tarnish in time as part of the ageing process but can be polished time and time again if you want to achieve a high sheen.

Suitable for Mortice only. Not for use with Rim locks.

Please note this product is also available in Polished Nickel. PF2190.

They have 8mm x 140mm spindle to take adjustment for various door thickness. Supplied with all the necessary fixing screws.

For best results the centre of the knob should be a minimum of 3'' from the edge of the door. Heavy Duty latches 4'' or 5'' are recommended for maximum efficiency.

Knob Size: Ø54mm
Projection: 62mm
Rose Size: Ø63mm

Aged Brass Finish - (For Internal or External Use)

To achieve the Aged Brass Finish, we accelerate the ageing process of the un-lacquered brass then re-polish. The result is a beautiful finish which highlights any dark detail on the product. To retain the original finish, regular polishing with a good quality metal polish is essential. However, if the intention is to allow the surface to age through oxidization, no attention needs to be given. Over time the brass will acquire a darker and more aged patina.

Warning: The chemicals in wet plaster and wet paint will rust our products. Only fit your new ironmongery when you have made sure that all new plaster is fully cured and paint has dried.

Also, we do not recommend using our products in coastal areas as the salt content in the air will rust all finishes. Only 316 marine grade stainless steel will not rust in this sort of environment and therefore our products cannot be guaranteed.
