These unique and stunning jewellery pieces are hand carved from domesticated water buffalo horn in Vietnam. Because they are made from a natural material the markings on each item varies slightly, giving each piece a wonderful one of a kind character.

The water buffalo is the national animal of Vietnam and a highly valuable and respected part of their culture. These animals are the tractor of the East aswell as being the Vietnamese equivalent of the cow, providing the nation with meat and dairy. Over three million of these large animals reside in this country where they are often a families most valuable possession and treated as a family member.

Vietnam has a long-standing cultural tradition of carving the horn of buffalos used for meat or whom perish of old age after a lifetime of cherished service, so that no part of the animal goes to waste. By using this sustainable, organic material respect is shown for the animals and the culture that relies on them while creating economic opportunities for the traditional artisans of Vietnam.
